Aruba’s national telecommunications company SETAR NV 40th anniversary Aruba has unveiled a series of major announcements as part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, marking four decades of connecting the island through innovation, investment, and service.
During a press conference held Monday afternoon at the SETAR Connection Center in Sero Blanco, SETAR Managing Director Roland Croes, together with Minister René Herde and members of the company’s management team, announced several new benefits that will directly impact customers across Aruba.
Internet Speeds Increased to a Minimum of 400 Mbps
As a highlight of the anniversary, SETAR announced that all residential customers with regular internet packages will receive a speed upgrade to a minimum of 400 Mbps. This upgrade will take effect starting February 2, 2026, at no additional cost, significantly improving home connectivity for families across the island.
Island-Wide Fiber Access by 2027
SETAR also confirmed that by 2027, every home and business in Aruba will have access to fiber-optic connectivity. This milestone will lay the foundation for smart homes, more competitive businesses, and continued digital economic growth.
5G Network Fully Operational
Another key announcement was the official rollout of 5G mobile technology in Aruba. According to SETAR, more than half of its mobile customers are already using 5G, providing faster mobile data speeds and next-generation connectivity through smartphones.
Expansion Beyond Telecommunications
SETAR emphasized that it is evolving beyond traditional telecommunications, expanding into digital and IT services, including cloud-based solutions, automation, and artificial intelligence for businesses and government institutions.
Additional Support for the Community
In celebration of its 40th anniversary, SETAR also announced an additional half-million florins added to its donation and sponsorship budget, supporting projects in education, culture, sports, and social development.
