A Sasakiweg accident in Aruba early Sunday morning nearly ended in a fatal tragedy when two Hyundai vehicles collided with streetlights and a tree, leaving three individuals injured, including a woman.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident around dawn and dispatched both police and ambulance units to the scene near House of Cheng on Sasakiweg, a busy street in Oranjestad. Upon arrival, officers and paramedics found that two Hyundai cars had crashed, one hitting a streetlight while the other struck a tree after veering off the road.

According to initial reports, both vehicles had not collided with each other but lost control separately, resulting in significant damage. The drivers and passengers in the cars were injured, though none of them appeared to be in life-threatening conditions. Three individuals were reported injured, including a woman and a man, who were both transported to the hospital via ambulance for further treatment. The third victim managed to leave the scene in a private car and seek medical attention on their own.

Authorities at the scene confirmed that the accident occurred as both cars were speeding along the road, and the loss of control led to the crashes. Police officers were seen securing the area and assisting emergency medical teams in stabilizing the victims before their transport to the hospital.

The Sasakiweg accident in Aruba serves as a reminder of the dangers of reckless driving, especially during early morning hours when visibility can be limited. Authorities urge drivers to be cautious and adhere to speed limits, particularly when driving in busy areas with high pedestrian traffic.

As Siman Santo (Holy Week) approaches, police remind drivers to act responsibly and with care, ensuring the safety of both themselves and others on the road. While the accident did not result in fatalities, it serves as a timely reminder of the importance of road safety during the holiday season.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the Sasakiweg accident in Aruba and have called for witnesses to come forward with any additional information that could assist in the inquiry.
