Who says you need snow to feel the magic of the holidays? In sunny Aruba, Renaissance Marketplace in downtown Oranjestad has transformed into a Winter Wonderland Christmas Market—bringing festive cheer to the tropics with twinkling lights, holiday treats, and joyful family fun. Held daily from December 1st to 23rd, 6–10 PM, this is Aruba’s largest and first-ever Christmas market, and it’s truly something special.
The entire marketplace is decked out in holiday spirit with glowing string lights, a grand Christmas tree, and cozy wooden vendor cottages. Visitors can shop for unique local gifts, enjoy traditional snacks like oliebollen, pastechi, and poffertjes, and sip on Aruba’s beloved Ponche Crema—including festive flavors like pistachio and amaretto.
A highlight for both kids and adults is the ice skating rink (yes, real ice in Aruba!), nightly live music, and of course, visits with Santa Claus and his elves. The event also supports local causes, with one vendor cottage donating all proceeds to Imeldahof, a home for children in need.
Local wine bar Aged., one of the latest additions to the marketplace, offers the perfect cozy retreat from the crowd—complete with fine wines, a cheese platter, and excellent service. The market is also surrounded by a range of restaurants and shops, and regularly hosts events like the Discover Local Art Festival every Friday.
Whether you’re looking for a unique date night, a fun family evening, or just want to soak up the holiday vibes island-style, Renaissance Marketplace’s Winter Wonderland delivers festive magic—with a Caribbean twist.
