Radio Gaga Julien Ignacio Aruba : Author and literary specialist Julien Ignacio will present a story translated into Papiamento from his book titled “Goudjakhals.”
The story is titled “Radio Gaga.” The presentation will take place on Thursday, March 12, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and the public is invited to attend the event.
Julien Ignacio (1969) writes and publishes various literary works, including short stories, articles, novels, and theatre texts. He studied literary science and has worked as a teacher and editor in the Netherlands.
The story “Radio Gaga” will be published in Papiamento as a printed book, ebook, and audiobook. At the same time, it is also part of an educational project that will be introduced in local schools.
Ignacio is a Dutch-Aruban writer, and his second book “Goudjakhals” (2023) — a collection of stories about migrants — received two literary awards.
The story “Radio Gaga,” which is the final story in the book “Goudjakhals,” serves as a tribute to Ignacio’s Aruban grandmother from Dakota.
The free publication of “Radio Gaga” and the related educational program “Radio Gaga na Aruba” are produced by Fundacion Dakota, in collaboration with Olga Buckley, Joyce Pereira, Biblioteca Nacional Aruba, Fundacion Rancho, and Colegio Arubano.
