On Sunday morning, Prime Minister Mike Eman, accompanied by his wife Mrs. Doina Eman, Minister Rene Herde, and several Members of Parliament, attended a solemn mass at Santa Cruz in honor of Colombia’s 215th Independence Day.
The mass, held together with the Colombian community residing in Aruba, served as both a celebration and a moment of reflection on the values of unity, freedom, and multiculturalism that define Aruba’s society.
“It was a beautiful occasion to recognize the strong bond between Aruba and the Colombian community,” said Prime Minister Eman. “Their contributions to our island’s culture, economy, and diversity are deeply appreciated.”
The Colombian diaspora in Aruba is one of the island’s most vibrant and active communities, and celebrations like this underscore the important role they play in Aruba’s multicultural identity.
The event highlighted Aruba’s commitment to inclusiveness and respect for all cultures, bringing together leaders and community members in a spirit of solidarity and celebration.
