ORANJESTAD (AAN) – On Sunday morning, an accident occurred at the Ponton roundabout on E.J. “Watty” Vos Boulevard in Aruba, involving a female driver and an electric bicycle cyclist. Police and ambulance units were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities confirmed that the driver of a Kia Rio Hatchback failed to give priority to the electric bike and struck the cyclist, causing the cyclist to fall. The victim received immediate medical attention on-site but declined to go to the hospital for further treatment.
Police are reminding all cyclists and drivers to remain cautious at roundabouts to prevent similar accidents.
