ORANJESTAD (AAN): Police assist ambulance in Soledad after officers were called to support paramedics responding to a medical emergency late Saturday night.
Authorities reported that an emergency call was received regarding a 58-year-old woman who was not breathing at a residence in the Soledad area. Two ambulances were immediately dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival, paramedics began providing medical care to the patient. During treatment, family members became confrontational toward the ambulance personnel, prompting the need for police assistance.
Two police patrol units arrived on the scene and intervened to de-escalate the situation. Family members reportedly demanded that the patient be transported immediately to the hospital. However, paramedics explained that standard medical protocol requires stabilizing the patient first.
According to emergency services, the patient was stable at the time and did not require urgent transport to the hospital. Police assist ambulance in Soledad ensured that paramedics could safely continue their duties and that the situation remained under control.
