Pedestrian Accident: This morning, at approximately 11:00 AM, police and ambulance services responded urgently to an accident on Green Corridor, just above Rooi Barcadera, near Young Fellow Bar & Restaurant.
Initial reports indicated that a car struck a pedestrian. Due to the location being on a highway, authorities quickly arrived at the scene. Meanwhile, Seri Tijshi roundabout was closed, and traffic was redirected south to prevent further congestion.
The first police unit on site found the pedestrian, a male, showing signs of being okay despite sustaining minor injuries. The car that hit him had stopped further up the road. Upon inspection, a long skid mark was visible, and a part of the car’s bumper was found on the road.
According to the driver of the Hyundai Accent hatchback, license plate A-40658, he reported seeing the male pedestrian getting off a bus near the side of the road. Unexpectedly, the pedestrian crossed the dual-lane road to the other side. The driver attempted to avoid hitting the pedestrian, but unfortunately, the vehicle still made contact, with the car’s front bumper hitting the pedestrian. The driver then continued down the road, leaving behind the long brake marks.
Rapid responders and an ambulance were on-site and transported the pedestrian to the hospital for further care. Witnesses at the scene confirmed that the pedestrian narrowly avoided serious injuries.
Police and two road service companies remained at the location to assist with the situation.
