Moneymaker Tour Brings Major Poker Event to Aruba This September

The Caribbean is rapidly gaining traction as one of the top destinations for high-stakes poker, and this September, the spotlight will be on Aruba as it hosts the flagship Main Event of the Moneymaker Tour. This exciting event is set to attract poker enthusiasts from across the region and beyond, continuing the trend of prestigious poker tournaments in the Caribbean.

A Rising Poker Hub in the Caribbean

While the Caribbean has long been known for its sun-soaked beaches and luxury resorts, it is now making a name for itself in the poker world. Even the iconic World Series of Poker (WSOP), traditionally held in Nevada, has made stops in the Bahamas with its WSOP Paradise series, signaling the region’s growing reputation in the world of poker.

Joining this emerging trend is the Moneymaker Tour, founded by 2003 WSOP champion Chris Moneymaker in partnership with Americas Cardroom. The tour, which has become immensely popular in a short period, travels across the U.S. and Latin America. Its next stop, however, promises to be a game-changer for poker in the Caribbean. The Aruba event is poised to boost regional interest in live poker, making it a must-attend event for poker fans everywhere.

Satellite Qualifiers and Travel Packages

In the lead-up to the Main Event, Americas Cardroom is offering satellite qualifiers, allowing players a low-cost opportunity to earn a seat in the $300,000 guaranteed Main Event. Winners of these qualifiers will receive a full prize package valued at $44,400, including Main Event buy-in, hotel accommodations, and travel expenses. Players can qualify for these packages by paying a $95 buy-in or by earning a spot through the weekly Beast leaderboard.

With the growing availability of direct flights between the U.S. and Caribbean destinations like Aruba, attending international poker events has become easier than ever. This has opened up new opportunities for poker players to engage in top-tier competitions without facing logistical challenges.

A New Era for Poker in the Caribbean

As poker continues to expand outside traditional hubs, Aruba’s upcoming Main Event is a significant step in establishing the island as a prime destination for international poker tournaments. Supported by the tourism industry and online platforms, Aruba’s emergence as a poker hotspot is just beginning. The Moneymaker Tour in September could mark the start of a larger poker movement throughout the Caribbean.
