The MEP parliamentary faction has accused the AVP of breaking its promise on the MFA San Nicolas multifunctional center, Diario reported on October 16.
During the Parliament debate on the investment fund, the MEP faction leader argued that the project’s history begins with the second Mike Eman cabinet: in 2017, the AVP laid the first stone for multifunctional centers in San Nicolas and Dakota, but the funds borrowed for five MFAs — Noord, Paradera, Santa Cruz, Savaneta and San Nicolas — ran out before construction of the San Nicolas one could start. The claims are those of the MEP faction, made during parliamentary debate.
Counter-narrative
The criticism offers a political counterpoint to this week’s announcements around the San Nicolas multifunctional facility. According to the MEP account, the AVP is now continuing the project nearly two years into government, on borrowed funds whose earlier allocation failed to deliver the San Nicolas building.
