Liesje Khemlani marked 35 years of public service on September 5, including 34 years at the Parliament of Aruba and her current work with the Ministry of Justice.
Career spans Parliament and Justice Ministry
Khemlani worked at Parliament for 34 years before joining the Justice Minister’s office at the end of November 2025. During her career, she worked with parliamentarians, ministers, governors, civil servants, journalists, lawyers and residents seeking information or assistance.
Reflecting on the Liesje Khemlani public service milestone, she described a career shaped by challenges, experience and a commitment to integrity, compassion and service.
Work and writing plans continue
Khemlani said her career is continuing and that she plans to write a book about her experience as a parliamentary civil servant. She also thanked colleagues and family members who supported her over the years.
