Today at 6:30 PM, Mrs. Nurianne vd Griend-Arias, a professor at the University of Aruba, will be hosting an informative evening at the University of Aruba about Type 2 Diabetes. For her PhD project, Mrs. Griend-Arias chose to focus on disabilities that are not immediately visible to others, such as diabetes. As part of her initiative, she has created a support group for people with Type 2 Diabetes under 18 years of age, where they can share experiences and support each other.
The session will provide information for students with Type 2 Diabetes who have already joined the support group. They will learn more about the group’s purpose, and the benefits of being part of this community. It will also reaffirm their decision to participate and highlight the positive aspects beyond the condition itself.
The intention is for the support group to meet monthly to connect, share experiences, and help each other manage their condition,” said Mrs. Griend-Arias. “This invitation is specifically for students who have Type 2 Diabetes and attend the University of Aruba. By attending the informative evening at the University of Aruba, they can gain valuable information about the support group and its benefits for themselves and their families.
