ORANJESTAD, Aruba – Hospi Bondi Camp 2026 has concluded after three weeks of activities organized by Horacio Oduber Hospital for the children and grandchildren of its employees, marking the 34th edition of one of the hospital’s longstanding summer traditions.
For the fourth consecutive year, the popular camp was organized over a full three-week period. The program brought together approximately 140 children and 45 leaders, creating a busy schedule filled with recreational, sporting, educational and social activities throughout Aruba.
According to Rachelle Roos, president of the Hospi Bondi Camp commission, organizing three weeks of engaging activities for such a large group remains a considerable challenge. She explained that the commission works creatively each year to introduce different experiences so participants can continue discovering new activities rather than repeating the same program.
This year’s schedule included trips to the beach, a visit to Arawa Park, movie outings and bowling. Children also participated in sports and educational activities such as a scavenger hunt, “Spel Zonder Grenzen” and an Adventure Park experience with Fly High.
The organizers said the children especially enjoyed the variety of experiences offered throughout the camp, which combined entertainment with opportunities to move, learn and work together.
A special surprise was also organized during the second week of Hospi Bondi Camp 2026. Señor Frogs hosted the entire group for lunch and an afternoon of special activities, giving participants an additional memorable experience.
The children enjoyed food, dancing and entertainment together with the teams from Señor Frogs and XFM, according to the hospital.
The camp concluded last week with its traditional closing celebration. During the event, the children were given an opportunity to demonstrate their talents through a special show prepared for their parents and families.
Horacio Oduber Hospital said the closing performance remains an important part of the annual camp because it allows participants to share what they have experienced while bringing families together at the end of the program.
On behalf of the hospital’s Board of Directors and wider team, HOH expressed special appreciation to Rachelle Roos, Josephine Williams and Chianti Colina, who form part of the commission responsible for organizing the camp.
The hospital described the commission as the driving force behind Hospi Bondi Camp, noting that its members dedicate long days and evenings to planning and coordinating the program.
HOH also thanked the large group of leaders who supervised and supported the children throughout the three weeks. Organizers emphasized that patience, commitment and a genuine passion for working with children are essential to maintaining the camp’s success year after year.
The Hospi Bondi Camp commission also expressed gratitude to the HOH Board of Directors, hospital departments and employees who contributed to the camp in different ways.
According to the organizers, every contribution, whether large or small, helped make the activities possible and ensured that the children could enjoy a varied summer experience.
Parents were also thanked for continuing to place their trust in the program and allowing their children to participate each year.
The hospital said that without the support of families, Hospi Bondi Camp 2026 and the tradition built over its 34 editions would not be possible.
The camp continues to provide children connected to the Horacio Oduber Hospital community with an opportunity to spend their school vacation participating in structured activities, building friendships and creating lasting memories across Aruba.
