HOH IHF recognition has highlighted Horacio Oduber Hospital’s community-support program, with an Honourable Mention at the IHF Awards 2026 in Seoul, according to NoticiaCla’s October 26 report.
Social and environmental responsibility recognized
The distinction was awarded in the social and environmental responsibility category during the 49th World Hospital Congress in South Korea. The report says the awards received more than 750 submissions from 38 countries.
HOH was recognized for its From Tourism to Community initiative. According to the hospital’s account, the program directs part of the income generated from treating visitors toward support for Aruba’s community.
Program supports children and essential care
The reported activities include specialized education for children with disabilities, meals for children from lower-income families and essential medical care for undocumented people without health insurance.
HOH described the distinction as recognition of its social commitment despite financial pressures and other challenges facing Aruba’s health system. The award does not itself establish a new entitlement to care or announce a change in the hospital’s regular funding arrangements.
