ORANJESTAD (AAN): Fundacion Movemento Ta Bida renewed statutes after 15 years, marking an important milestone in expanding its mission to support the holistic well-being of older adults in Aruba.
The foundation expressed its appreciation to Notary Office Helmeyer for their guidance and legal advice throughout the process. With the updated statutes, Fundacion Movemento Ta Bida renewed statutes to allow broader activities that go beyond promoting physical exercise, including personal development and social, emotional, and mental support.
One of the key areas of focus includes courses and workshops for individuals preparing for retirement. These initiatives emphasize a holistic approach to “Active Aging,” helping seniors maintain purpose, balance, and fulfillment in their lives after retirement.
An additional important update involved correcting the foundation’s name from “Movemiento” to “Movemento,” a correction suggested by Mr. Todd Dandare, which the organization greatly appreciated.
Although the changes required time and careful preparation, finalizing the process became a priority in 2025. With the updated framework, Fundacion Movemento Ta Bida renewed statutes to enable faster action and greater opportunities for the development of Aruba’s senior community.
The 2026 program is filled with activities across multiple districts. Currently, ten groups operate directly under the foundation, alongside 22 independent groups that remain in close contact. Activities include nature walks, Physio Fit sessions, creative art courses, community gardening, neighborhood cleanups, the Jani Brokke senior sports games, the 60+ Song Festival, fundraising events such as bingo, and an intergenerational cultural show planned for later this year.
Volunteers remain the foundation’s greatest strength, and the organization expressed deep gratitude to its volunteers and board members for their ongoing dedication. Companies interested in retirement preparation presentations for employees are encouraged to contact the foundation to schedule an appointment.
