Firefighting Action in Curason Park took place Wednesday evening after a large fire broke out in Curason Park at Jaburibari, authorities reported.
Just before 8:00 p.m., emergency services received multiple calls to 911 about a fire visible inside the park. Minutes later, a Brandweer (fire truck) arrived at the scene on the northern side of the park, where the flames were already clearly visible.
However, firefighters initially could not reach the fire directly because the park entrance was blocked by the spreading blaze, and the fire truck did not have the tools to cut through the obstruction.
As the fire began to spread rapidly, both police and firefighters decided to enter the park from a back access route.
Once inside, the fire crews started combating the blaze, which had grown significantly in a short period and spread beyond the park’s northern side.
The thick smoke created significant discomfort for nearby homes and residents in the surrounding area. At this time, officials have not determined the cause of the fire.
No injuries were reported during the response, and emergency personnel worked to contain and extinguish the flames throughout the evening.
Authorities continue to investigate the source of the fire and assess any damage to the park and nearby properties.
