ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Fiesta di Cunucu featured a successful traditional cooking competition celebrating Aruba’s local cuisine as part of the annual event organized by the Department of Elderly Affairs (DOZ) and the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (Santa Rosa).
The culinary contest highlighted authentic Aruban dishes and sandwiches, with participants competing to showcase the island’s rich food traditions. Three chefs from EPB San Nicolas served as judges, tasting and evaluating each entry.
The “Aruba di Antes” team won first place in the sandwich category with its Pan cu Calco, while Fundacion Cas Marie claimed the top prize in the traditional dish category with its Pisca Crioyo.
The winners received their awards from Santa Rosa Director Nathalie Maduro and DOZ Director Desiree Helder.
Organizers thanked the participants, judges and EPB San Nicolas for helping preserve Aruba’s culinary heritage and promoting healthy, traditional local food through community events.
