ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort celebrated Earth Week 2026 in a meaningful and inspiring way, highlighting its continued leadership in sustainable tourism in Aruba.
The eco-certified resort transformed Earth Day into a multi-day celebration focused on sustainability, wellness, and community action. Guests and staff were encouraged to go beyond awareness and actively participate in small but impactful environmental efforts.
A key highlight was the resort’s participation in the Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association (AHATA) island-wide beach cleanup on April 22. This initiative brought together hotels, businesses, schools, and community members to protect Aruba’s fragile coastal ecosystem.
At Eagle Beach, 104 participants—including resort staff, volunteers, students, and guests—collected large amounts of waste, contributing significantly to environmental preservation efforts.
The activities extended to the Bucuti Tara–GMC Nature Preserve, a 32-hectare protected area dedicated to restoration and biodiversity. Volunteers helped remove waste and support ongoing conservation efforts, reinforcing the importance of protecting Aruba’s natural environment.
Throughout the week, guests participated in sustainable experiences such as organic wine tastings, zero-waste mocktail classes, cacao ceremonies, and environmental film screenings. These activities emphasized that sustainability is not only a responsibility but also a meaningful way of life.
