ORANJESTAD (AAN): In accordance with the law, the Aruba Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KvK) represents the interests of trade and industry on the island. The KvK Board consists of nine members, elected by representatives of both large businesses (grootbedrijf) and small businesses (kleinbedrijf).
During the first board meeting of the year, members elect a President and Vice President, and designate a Deputy President. The President and Vice President, together with the Secretary/Executive Director, form the KvK’s Executive Board.
For 2026, the Board has reappointed Mr. Diederik Kemmerling as President and Mr. Robert Croes as Vice President. Other board members include Ms. Monica Kock, Mr. Gavril Mansur, Mr. Derrell Maxwell, Mr. Devaney (Dave) Martinus, Ms. Nathalie Moore, Ms. Roxanne Solognier-van Dinter, and Mr. Omar Tromp, who will also serve as Deputy President when needed.
The KvK Board is responsible for the organization’s management and strategic direction, supported by Secretary/Executive Director Mr. Martijn Balkestein, who oversees daily operations together with the KvK staff.
Role of the Chamber of Commerce
The Aruba Chamber of Commerce is not only responsible for business registration, but also acts as a representative and advocate for the business community. As a key connector between the private sector and government, KvK promotes entrepreneurship, supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), encourages innovation, and contributes to workforce development. The organization also provides economic information, business guidance, and training opportunities for entrepreneurs.
Key Achievements in 2025
In 2025, KvK strengthened cooperation with the government on major economic topics such as the labor market, tax reform, digitalization, business operating costs, and economic diversification. A trade mission to Panama created international opportunities for local businesses.
KvK also fully renewed its training programs, introducing modern topics such as artificial intelligence and digital skills to prepare entrepreneurs for the digital future. Traditional business mixers were redesigned into more effective networking events. Four business surveys were launched to better understand entrepreneurs’ needs, and specialized committees were created, including those focused on Real Estate & Vacation Rentals and the Informal Economy.
In addition, KvK celebrated its 95th anniversary, marking a major milestone in its long-standing service to Aruba’s business community.
Digital Improvements
In line with Aruba’s national eGovernment ambitions, KvK implemented several digital upgrades. A new corporate identity was introduced to reflect a modern vision, and the KvK website was completely redesigned. The MyChamber platform is currently being significantly improved to offer better user experience and easier access to services.
KvK Looking Ahead in 2026
The KvK Board, made up of committed entrepreneurs, remains dedicated to strengthening communication between the private sector and government. In 2026, KvK will continue promoting innovation, organizing trade missions, and hosting forums, mixers, workshops, and training sessions. The organization will also continue sharing valuable information and expertise to help prepare Aruba’s businesses for the future.
