ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba’s Department of Social Affairs (DAS) expects approximately 460 students to submit proof of school enrollment for the upcoming academic year to remain eligible for education-related benefits.
According to DAS Public Relations Officer Marceylaine Paskel, students and parents receiving financial assistance must submit a school enrollment declaration (schoolverklaring) between August 24 and August 27 at their nearest DAS office.
The requirement applies to adults attending school, parents with children enrolled in daytime education, and parents of children aged three and older attending registered daycare centers under Fundacion Pa Nos Muchanan.
School declaration forms will be available through schools and registered daycare centers. DAS emphasized that submissions will only be accepted during the designated four-day period. Those who fail to submit the required documentation on time will lose eligibility for school-related benefits for the new academic year and will receive only their regular financial assistance.
Eligible clients will receive a monthly school allowance of AWG 300, a parental contribution of up to AWG 250 paid directly to the school, and additional assistance for school supplies.
DAS also reminded clients who stop attending school to notify the department promptly to avoid administrative issues or penalties.
