This week, Parliamentarian Xiomara Maduro raised concerns that the Parliament of Aruba has not been receiving current financial information from the AVP‑FUTURO Cabinet, raising alarms about transparency and financial oversight.
Maduro stated that although Minister Gerlien Croes has promised transparency in governance and Minister Geoffrey Wever has explained that some delays in quarterly financial figures are due to past backlogs, the situation remains unresolved.
As of February 11, 2026, Parliament still has not received the financial figures for the last quarter of 2025. This includes the Implementation Report URK4 2025, which should provide a detailed accounting of public finances and budget execution, but has neither been published nor submitted to Parliament. As a result, the opinion of the Aruba Financial Supervision Board (CAft) on the most recent figures is also unknown.
Maduro also pointed out that the CAft opinion on the 2026 Budget, which was approved by Parliament on December 23, 2025, has not been submitted either. According to the Financial Supervision Law (LAft), such reports and opinions should have been delivered by January 6, 2026, even allowing for possible holiday delays. However, more than a month has passed without this information reaching Parliament.
