Prime Minister Mike Eman of Aruba held an important meeting in the Netherlands with Pieter van Oord, CEO of Royal Schiphol Group, to discuss opportunities for expanding and reinforcing strategic collaboration.
During the meeting, Schiphol Group reaffirmed its commitment to deepening ties with the Caribbean islands, highlighting its proven track record in supporting the successful transformation of Queen Beatrix International Airport into a stable and reliable organization.
Future plans include not only the exchange of knowledge and expertise but also training and preparing young Aruban talent in the Netherlands. Schiphol Group also expressed interest in potentially acquiring a minority stake in Aruba’s airport, further solidifying the long-term partnership.
Prime Minister Eman emphasized that Aruba’s government places great value on strategic alliances with international partners who bring innovation, expertise, and sustainability. Schiphol, he noted, has already demonstrated its capability and reliability, making it an ideal partner as Aruba works to strengthen its airport infrastructure and regional position.
The meeting underlines Aruba’s commitment to continue investing in critical infrastructure for the benefit of its people and economy, ensuring that the airport remains a strong and sustainable hub in the region.
