Aruba security talks involving the justice minister and police leadership have been requested by parliamentarian John Hart, DIARIO reports.
Committee chair seeks joint discussion
Hart, who chairs Parliament’s Justice Committee, said he wanted lawmakers and the relevant authorities to discuss crime prevention, traffic safety and other justice concerns. His comments were reported on October 27.
Boycott accusation is Hart’s account
Hart accused opposition members of obstructing an earlier discussion by insisting on debate about a private-jet issue. That allegation is his account, not an independently established finding. He also said an investigation must establish the facts in the recent death of a detained man, rather than political speculation doing so.
