Aruba Parking Enforcement 2026 Intensifies to Prevent Fines and Towing

The Aruba parking enforcement 2026 is being intensified as Aruparking steps up control measures to address ongoing parking violations in downtown Oranjestad. Authorities say uncontrolled parking has become unacceptable, especially in paid parking zones where motorists are legally required to comply with payment regulations.

Since October 2025, Aruparking and the KPA have increased enforcement against illegally parked vehicles, particularly those blocking access for emergency services such as fire trucks, ambulances, and public buses. These actions have already resulted in more than 375 fines and the towing of over 150 vehicles.

As part of the Aruba parking enforcement 2026, Aruparking will now place stronger emphasis on paid parking compliance. While the current law has limitations, it authorizes Aruparking to tow vehicles occupying paid parking spaces without payment. Enforcement will begin immediately and become more intensive starting February.

Motorists are urged to avoid fines and towing by paying for parking in downtown Oranjestad. Parking rates are 1 florin per 30 minutes or 2 florins per hour. Payment can be made via Pay.aw, debit or credit card, or cash (coins). Residents or workers within the Aruparking zone may subscribe for 75 florins per month, with social-rate subscriptions also available.

Drivers who prefer free parking may use the parking lot behind the former DOW site near Arubus. Importantly, the payment process has changed—drivers are no longer required to mark a parking space number. Instead, they must enter their license plate number, allowing them to park in any Aruparking zone for the duration paid. Payments can be extended via the Pay.aw app or at any Aruparking payment point.

The government and Aruparking are calling on all motorists to comply with parking rules to avoid fines and towing fees, which remain the responsibility of the vehicle owner and driver. Meanwhile, legislative updates are underway to further improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Aruba parking enforcement 2026 system.
