Aruba Lions Club school support is helping provide breakfast five days a week to more than 750 primary-school children through cooperation with Fundacion Ban Uni Man pa Cria Nos Muchanan.
John Fun, representing the foundation, was the guest speaker during Aruba Lions Club’s meeting held on July 29.
During his presentation, Fun explained the work carried out by the foundation and its efforts to support children attending primary schools in Aruba.
The foundation recently received a donation from Aruba Lions Club to help continue this assistance.
The contribution forms part of Lions Clubs International’s global Hunger Relief cause, which focuses on reducing food insecurity and supporting vulnerable communities.
Through the partnership, Aruba Lions Club is contributing to efforts that provide breakfast to more than 750 children five days per week.
Following the presentation, Fun received a symbolic cheque from current Aruba Lions Club President Gerardo Figaroa.
The club’s next meeting is scheduled for August 26, when a representative of Fundacion Pa Nos Comunidad is expected to speak to members about its work.
Aruba Lions Club has served the local community for nearly 80 years and operates under Lions Clubs International.
The international organization includes more than 46,000 clubs in over 200 countries and territories and has more than 1.4 million members worldwide.
Aruba Lions Club said it remains committed to working with community partners through several service programs.
These initiatives include its Hospital Bed and Wheelchair program, Smile Mobile, Health Fair and Back to School Food Bags.
Through continued Aruba Lions Club school support and other community initiatives, the organization aims to improve quality of life and provide practical assistance to residents across the island.
