ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Aruba FIFA Series 2026 champion title was secured after Aruba defeated Liechtenstein with a strong 4-1 victory in Rwanda during the FIFA Series 2026 Group B matches.
The match took place on Sunday afternoon (Aruba time) at the Kigali Pele Stadium in Rwanda, marking Aruba’s first major friendly match against a European team. From the start, Aruba showed dominance on the field, controlling possession and creating strong attacking opportunities.
The breakthrough came in the 19th minute, when Jaybriën Romano scored the opening goal. Aruba continued applying pressure, and just six minutes later, Gello Robertha increased the lead to 2-0. The first half ended with Aruba maintaining control of the game.
In the second half, Liechtenstein managed to score in the 52nd minute, narrowing the gap. However, Aruba responded strongly, and in the 69th minute, Rainey Breinburg scored a third goal to extend the lead to 3-1.
During stoppage time, Liechtenstein conceded an own goal in the 94th minute, sealing a 4-1 victory for Aruba. This decisive win confirmed Aruba as the Aruba FIFA Series 2026 champion of Group B.
The victory marks a historic achievement for Aruba’s national team, highlighting the talent and determination of the players, coaching staff, and the Aruban Football Association (AVB).
