Aruba Court Clears Man in Immoral Acts:
The Aruba Court has acquitted a 44-year-old Colombian man, identified as P., who was accused of committing immoral acts involving his partner’s daughter. The ruling was delivered on Thursday morning after the judge determined that there was insufficient legal evidence to prove the allegations.
The case relates to an incident reported on February 6, 2025, in Aruba. The young girl, identified as A., had contacted the police and friends, claiming that P. had touched her inappropriately and engaged in indecent behavior near her. According to reports, the situation caused her to experience a panic attack.
During the court proceedings, the prosecution argued that P. was guilty and requested a prison sentence of 180 days, with 75 days conditional and a two-year probation period. The prosecutor emphasized that such actions would have seriously violated the victim’s integrity and could cause long-term emotional harm.
However, P. denied all allegations. He stated that A. has psychological issues and had previously made similar accusations against him. He also claimed that she had a history of trauma and panic attacks, which may have influenced her statements. According to P., on the day of the incident, he was at home with his young child while A. was sleeping in the living room. He suggested that the accusation may have been a misunderstanding or even a setup.
The court reviewed forensic evidence as part of the investigation. Samples were collected from bedding where the alleged act was said to have taken place and sent to the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) for analysis. The results showed no presence of sperm or physical evidence supporting the claims.
Based on the lack of concrete evidence, the judge concluded that it could not be legally proven that P. committed the alleged acts. As a result, he was officially acquitted of all charges.
The judge emphasized that without sufficient proof, a conviction could not be justified. Following the decision, P.’s family, including his mother and partner, expressed relief and satisfaction with the outcome.
