Alfredo Ruiz CTO WEB Aruba has officially been appointed as the new Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of WEB Aruba N.V., marking an important step in strengthening the company’s technical leadership and supporting Aruba’s energy transition.
The appointment of Alfredo Ruiz CTO WEB Aruba is part of the company’s official structure, as established in its statutes. Parent company Utilities Aruba N.V. has taken this strategic decision to enhance operational efficiency and guide the technical direction of WEB Aruba.
In his new role, Alfredo Ruiz CTO WEB Aruba will be responsible for leading and strengthening the company’s technical operations, while also providing strategic direction in the development and optimization of energy production. The management team of WEB Aruba now consists of CEO Alfredo Koolman and CTO Alfredo Ruiz.
Alfredo Ruiz CTO WEB Aruba is a highly experienced engineer with a strong background in refinery operations and utility systems. He began his career as a combustion engineer at Aruba’s refinery and has built over 25 years of experience in energy production and distribution, including fossil and renewable energy systems, water desalination plants, waste processing, and natural gas operations.
Additionally, Alfredo Ruiz CTO WEB Aruba brings extensive expertise in wind and solar energy projects, as well as energy storage solutions. Prior to this role, he served at Aqualectra in Curaçao, further strengthening his regional experience in the energy sector.
WEB Aruba is currently entering a new Corporate Strategy phase focused on transitioning from fossil fuels to more sustainable energy sources. This transition has become increasingly important given current global geopolitical developments.
With the leadership of Alfredo Ruiz CTO WEB Aruba, alongside CEO Koolman, WEB Aruba aims to continue delivering sustainable, reliable, and affordable water and electricity for Aruba, both now and in the future.
