A Token of Appreciation

The Distinguished Visitor certification, presented on behalf of the Minister of Tourism, serves as a token of gratitude for guests who have visited Aruba 10 or more consecutive years. Mrs. Keyttin Silva, representing the Aruba Tourism Authority, alongside staff members from Barcelo Aruba, presented the certificate and gifts to the honorees during a special ceremony.

Top Reasons for Returning to Aruba

When asked about their reasons for returning year after year, Mr. and Mrs. Bibula shared the following:

ourists Choose Resilient destinations more than ever, especially as February 17 marks Global Tourism Resilience Day worldwide. Proclaimed by the United Nations, this day highlights the importance of building a strong, flexible, and sustainable tourism industry. For Aruba, where tourism is the main pillar of the economy, resilience is not just a concept but a strategic priority. In recent years, Aruba has faced global challenges, including economic disruptions and the pandemic. These experiences have shown that Tourists Choose Resilient destinations that are prepared, adaptable, and innovative. Visitors today carefully evaluate safety, healthcare systems, crisis management, environmental sustainability, and emergency preparedness before booking their trips. Travelers from North America, Europe, and Latin America increasingly base their decisions on stability and sustainability. They want assurance that if unexpected situations arise, the destination can respond quickly and effectively. For Aruba, aligning with global resilience principles creates a competitive advantage. Strong cooperation between the public and private sectors, well-regulated hospitality standards, and continuous investment in sustainable tourism help ensure that Tourists Choose Resilient destinations like Aruba with confidence. Resilience today goes beyond emergency response. It includes environmental protection, digital innovation, professional training, and community involvement. Modern visitors prefer destinations that protect natural resources and strengthen their local communities. Although Aruba does not mark the day with major public events, the message remains clear: as global travel evolves, Tourists Choose Resilient destinations, and Aruba is positioning itself strongly for a sustainable future.
