Oranjestad, Aruba – A beloved name in Aruba’s hospitality scene is about to enter a bold new chapter. Starting Friday, August 9, 2025, the iconic Talk of the Town Hotel will temporarily close its doors to begin an extensive renovation in preparation for its rebranding as voco Aruba – An IHG Hotel.

This exciting transition marks the hotel’s official entry into the IHG Hotels & Resorts family—one of the world’s leading hotel groups. The revamped property will reopen in December 2025 under IHG’s voco brand, known globally for blending the charm of boutique hotels with the dependability of an international name.

A Modern Makeover with Local Flair

Hotel representatives confirmed that the renovation will deliver a top-to-bottom upgrade. Expect modernized guest rooms, refreshed common areas, and updated amenities—all while preserving the hotel’s Caribbean soul and deep-rooted connection to the local community.

The rebranding is seen as a strategic move to better serve a new generation of travelers—from leisure seekers and business guests to environmentally conscious visitors—offering a stay that combines style, comfort, and sustainability.

What Is voco?

Launched in 2018, voco—Latin for “to invite” or “to come together”—is one of IHG’s fastest-growing premium lifestyle brands. With over 70 properties open and nearly 80 more in development across more than 25 countries, voco has quickly made a mark in the world of upscale hospitality.

Guests at voco hotels enjoy:

  • Friendly, informal service with stress-free check-ins and attentive staff

  • “Me time” comforts including premium bedding, refillable eco-friendly toiletries, and smart in-room tech

  • Locally inspired touches in design, cuisine, and experiences

  • Sustainability-first practices such as reduced plastic use, water-saving features, and energy-efficient operations

A New Era for Tourism in Aruba

The transformation of Talk of the Town into voco Aruba signals a fresh step forward in Aruba’s hotel landscape. It brings a globally respected hospitality brand to a familiar local setting, offering guests the best of both worlds: the warmth of Aruban culture and the quality assurance of IHG.

As the hotel prepares to reopen its doors, management extends heartfelt thanks to the Aruba community and loyal patrons for their continued support during this exciting transition.
