Aruba Students Lead the Way in Sustainability with Amsterdam Manor’s Future of Hospitality Program

Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is making waves not just with travelers—but with the next generation of environmental leaders. Through its Future of Hospitality program, the resort is engaging Aruba’s youth in sustainability education and hands-on eco-projects, including impactful beach clean-up efforts.

Rooted in the resort’s Organizational Culture Policy, the program connects tourism with environmental responsibility. Students begin each session with interactive presentations exploring the link between hospitality and sustainability, sparking discussions on how daily eco-friendly choices can influence Aruba’s tourism and environment.

What sets the program apart is its action-based learning. After classroom time, students participate in a guided beach clean-up followed by a waste-weighing session, offering a clear look at the positive results of their efforts.

So far, three local schools have joined this growing initiative, reflecting the power of youth engagement in community-driven sustainability. These events, including Earth Day clean-ups, strengthen local pride and environmental stewardship.

“Educating youth is key to building a more sustainable tourism industry,” says the Amsterdam Manor team. “They are the future of hospitality—and we’re investing in their knowledge and leadership today.”

The program is part of the resort’s larger green mission, which also includes recycling efforts, eco-conscious guest experiences, and coastal preservation.

Interested in joining? Teachers, parents, and student groups are encouraged to contact Amsterdam Manor and get involved in shaping a cleaner, greener Aruba—one beach at a time.
