The annual Quota Club Aruba fundraiser has sold out again, with proceeds intended for education, school support and hearing-loss prevention, 24ora reported on October 25.
Club president Farida Feliciana-Figaroa said the organization depends on ticket sales, sponsors and donated prizes to finance its work. The report did not give a total raised at this year’s event.
Previous fundraising supported 21 organizations
Feliciana-Figaroa said last year’s fundraiser brought in Afl. 110,000 and enabled donations to 21 organizations. Those figures refer to the previous year, not the newly reported sold-out edition.
She described projects including tuition support for a student with a hearing impairment at Ibero High School and audio systems donated to ten schools. The club hopes to extend the school-audio initiative to more campuses.
Hearing protection remains a year-round priority
Beyond fundraising, the club works with local partners to facilitate hearing tests and raise awareness of hearing loss. Feliciana-Figaroa highlighted outreach to young people about loud music and hearing protection, including school visits around Carnival.
She said that awareness should continue throughout the year and encouraged people who suspect a hearing difficulty to seek a test.
