No-party response tops categories
An Aruba political survey conducted online by NoticiaCLA found 25.3 percent of 380 participants selected no current party affinity. MEP followed at 21.1 percent and AVP at 18.9 percent. Another 21.3 percent declined to disclose a preference, while FUTURO received 5.8 percent, PPA 4.2 percent and others 3.4 percent.
Results are not a voting forecast
The outlet emphasized that the question measured affinity, not voting intention, and the online survey was not a scientifically weighted sample of Aruba’s electorate. Of respondents to related questions, 95.2 percent said they were eligible voters and 94.2 percent said they voted in the last election.
Leadership opinions differ by affiliation
On Wendrick Cicilia becoming AVP leader, 59.7 percent of AVP-affiliated respondents were positive. Among MEP-affiliated respondents, 65 percent were negative, while 56.8 percent with no party affinity were negative. These figures describe only this respondent group and cannot establish wider public opinion.
