The Scouting Aruba Jungle Adventure brought Cub Scouts from several local groups together for a traditional outdoor learning challenge on Saturday, according to Diario.
Activities focused on personal development
The event used a series of games and educational stations to help participants explore six areas of development: emotional awareness, creativity, spirituality, character, sociability and physical growth.
Children practiced recognizing emotions, responding to difficult situations and showing patience. Other exercises encouraged teamwork, thoughtful decision-making and support for fellow participants.
Environmental responsibility was part of the program
Several activities connected personal growth with care for Aruba’s natural environment. Participants discussed keeping the sea clean, recycling materials and considering the consequences of their actions.
The outdoor format gave the young Scouts opportunities to solve problems together while moving through the course. Organizers closed the program with a reflection on what the children had learned during the day.
Scouting tradition adapted for young participants
The challenge followed Scouting Aruba’s traditional Rimboejacht format and used an adventure theme to make the lessons accessible to Cub Scouts. Diario reported that the program combined recreation with practical learning rather than treating the event as a competition.
The gathering also allowed children from different Scouting groups to work alongside one another, strengthening social skills and cooperation across the participating units.
