Aruba and San Marino signed an agreement to strengthen aviation oversight while broadening aircraft operating options.
Agreement covers cross-registry operations
The September 7 agreement allows San Marino-registered aircraft to operate under an Air Operator Certificate issued by Aruba. A reciprocal May 15 agreement allows Aruba-registered aircraft to operate under a San Marino certificate.
Regulators retain their responsibilities
The authorities plan technical meetings, information exchanges and coordinated safety inspections without transferring regulatory duties. The agreement follows Article 83 of the Chicago Convention and has an initial three-year term.
