Two Aruban short films are scheduled to make their European festival appearances in Utrecht on September 28 as part of the Dutch Film Festival.
Aruban productions join Studio Caribe program
E Peso di Mundo, directed by Juan Francisco Pardo, and Adrift Wak Leu, directed by first-time filmmaker Velvet Zoe Ramos, will screen in the festival’s Studio Caribe program alongside three productions from Curacao.
The Aruban short films were recently shown at the sixth Playa Film Festival in sold-out screenings. That event was the world premiere of E Peso di Mundo. Adrift Wak Leu previously premiered at the Curacao International Film Festival in April.
More international screenings planned
Studio Caribe is a Dutch Film Fund program supporting professional development in the Dutch Caribbean film sector. Twelve projects were selected for development from more than 60 applications, and six later moved into production.
Adrift Wak Leu is also scheduled for the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival from September 23 to 27 and the Conch Shell International Film Festival in New York in October.
