ORANJESTAD, Aruba — The new Boolchand Aruba Store has officially opened at Rockefellerstraat 1 in Oranjestad, marking a major new chapter for the Caribbean retailer after 52 years of doing business in Aruba.
More than 200 guests attended the official opening celebration on Thursday evening, August 27, bringing together customers, business partners and members of Aruba’s business community.
The larger store is located opposite Citgo Boulevard and was designed to give customers more space to explore, test and compare technology before making a purchase.
Ravee R.B. Nandwani, Director of The Boolchand Group, said Aruba has been part of the family company’s history for more than five decades.
He said generations of Aruban customers have grown alongside the company, including people who once visited Boolchand’s to buy their first camera and now return with their own children.
Boolchand Aruba Store Expands Shopping Experience
The new Boolchand Aruba Store features a more spacious layout organized around different technology categories.
Customers can move between dedicated areas for photography, audio and video products, computers, gaming equipment and mobile phones.
The company says the redesigned location provides more space for customers to experience products before deciding what works best for their needs.
The new location also provides additional free parking, addressing one of the practical needs identified by customers.
For Boolchand’s, the opening represents both a modernization of its Aruba presence and another step toward the group’s upcoming 100th anniversary.
New Personalized Phone Case Service
The Rockefellerstraat store is also introducing new services.
One is “Just in Case,” which allows customers to create personalized phone cases using their own photographs or designs.
Boolchand’s is also working with Fujifilm to introduce an in-store photo-printing service in the coming weeks.
The service will bring physical photo printing back into the store at a time when many consumers primarily store and view photographs digitally.
Boolchand’s to Business Launches
Another important development is the introduction of Boolchand’s to Business, or B2B, the group’s division focused specifically on commercial customers.
The new store includes a dedicated area where business owners, executives and purchasing teams can meet with representatives to discuss technology requirements.
Products and solutions can range from laptops and printers to hospitality technology and digital displays.
The company says business customers will also receive the local support and after-sales service traditionally associated with Boolchand’s retail operations.
Afl. 10,000 Donated to School Breakfast Program
The grand opening also included a community contribution.
Boolchand’s donated Afl. 10,000 to Fundacion Ban Uni Man Pa Cria Nos Muchanan through its annual Back to School campaign.
The foundation has operated a school breakfast program in Aruba since 2001, helping children who may otherwise begin their school day without breakfast.
Information presented during the opening indicated that the program currently reaches approximately 750 children attending schools throughout Aruba.
The contribution connects the store opening with Boolchand’s broader commitment to the community where it has operated for more than half a century.
New Store Marks 52 Years in Aruba
Nandwani described the opening as a renewed commitment to Aruba as The Boolchand Group moves toward its centennial anniversary.
The company sees the larger location, expanded product experience and new commercial services as part of a wider effort to modernize its brand while maintaining its relationship with local customers.
The Boolchand Aruba Store is located at 1 Rockefellerstraat in Oranjestad, opposite Citgo Boulevard.
The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
