ORANJESTAD, Aruba — SETAR Aruba School Breakfast support has received a major boost after SETAR N.V. donated Afl. 15,000 to Fundacion Ban Uni Man Pa Cria Nos Muchanan to help provide daily breakfasts to children in need.
SETAR has traditionally used its annual Back to School initiative to provide school bags and educational supplies to children preparing for the new academic year.
For 2026, however, the national telecommunications company decided to give the initiative a different focus by supporting the foundation’s school breakfast program.
According to information shared with the campaign, the foundation currently assists more than 800 children attending schools across Aruba, including students participating in afternoon programs.
SETAR Aruba School Breakfast Supports Children
The SETAR Aruba School Breakfast contribution will help Fundacion Ban Uni Man Pa Cria Nos Muchanan continue providing children with breakfast during the school week.
The program began during the 2001–2002 academic year, initially serving 138 children.
At that time, participating students received a simple breakfast consisting of a sandwich together with juice or milk.
Over the years, the initiative has expanded significantly as the foundation responds to the needs of families throughout Aruba.
The objective remains straightforward: ensuring that children experiencing financial hardship have access to breakfast when they attend school.
Afl. 15,000 Donation From SETAR
SETAR contributed Afl. 15,000 to support the foundation’s work during the new academic year.
The company said it is proud to contribute to an initiative that directly supports Aruba’s children.
Having access to breakfast can play an important role in a child’s physical development, concentration and ability to participate effectively during the school day.
Rather than distributing individual school supplies this year, SETAR chose to direct its Back to School support toward a program that provides assistance throughout the academic year.
Breakfast Program Has Grown Across Aruba
Fundacion Ban Uni Man Pa Cria Nos Muchanan has operated its school breakfast initiative for more than two decades.
Aruba’s official tourism website describes the organization as an islandwide school breakfast program serving children who need assistance and operating in schools across Aruba.
The foundation depends heavily on contributions and partnerships to maintain the program.
Businesses, organizations and individuals can help ensure that breakfast remains available for participating children throughout the school year.
Other Aruba organizations have also supported the program. Earlier in August, Aruba Lions Club contributed to the foundation as part of its Hunger Relief activities.
SETAR Continues Community Support
Through the SETAR Aruba School Breakfast initiative, the telecommunications company is connecting its annual Back to School campaign with a longer-term form of assistance.
The Afl. 15,000 contribution will help the foundation purchase food and continue preparing breakfasts for children who depend on the program.
SETAR said providing children with a nutritious start to their school day is important for their growth and development.
By supporting Fundacion Ban Uni Man Pa Cria Nos Muchanan, the company hopes its 2026 Back to School contribution will help children across Aruba begin their school days with the food and support they need.
