Amsterdam Manor Launches Youth Sustainability Program to Inspire Aruba’s Next Generation of Eco-Leaders

EAGLE BEACH, ARUBA – Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is investing in the island’s future with the launch of its Future of Hospitality program—an educational initiative designed to inspire local youth through sustainability-focused learning experiences.

By aligning with the resort’s Organizational Culture Policy, the program connects Aruba’s students with real-world environmental practices, cultivating both ecological awareness and community engagement. The resort’s youth outreach aims to prepare the next generation to lead a more sustainable hospitality industry across the Caribbean.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Student visits begin with interactive sessions that explore the relationship between tourism and the environment. These engaging presentations encourage critical thinking and group discussions, highlighting how simple, eco-conscious decisions can make a major impact—both in hospitality operations and in everyday life.

What makes this program truly impactful is its hands-on approach. After the classroom portion, students participate in beach clean-up activities organized by Amsterdam Manor, followed by a waste weighing session. This tangible experience helps students grasp the real consequences of pollution and the importance of conservation.

Growing a Green Movement in Schools

Three local schools have already joined the initiative, and more are expected to follow. Each group of students gains a deeper understanding of how their choices influence the health of Aruba’s ecosystems and its tourism economy. The resort has also continued its participation in broader sustainability efforts, such as annual Earth Day clean-ups, reinforcing its commitment to environmental advocacy.

The Importance of Youth in Sustainable Tourism

Educating youth is crucial for embedding sustainability into the heart of the tourism industry. Amsterdam Manor’s program helps cultivate eco-conscious habits early, empowering students to be future leaders who prioritize green practices in both their careers and communities.

A Long-Term Vision for Environmental Leadership

This youth sustainability initiative complements Amsterdam Manor’s existing green programs, including recycling systems, beach preservation, and eco-friendly guest experiences. Together, these efforts create a comprehensive model of responsible hospitality that benefits both the island and its people.

Join the Movement

Teachers, parents, and student groups interested in taking part in the Future of Hospitality program are encouraged to contact Amsterdam Manor for scheduling. From beach clean-ups to sustainability sessions, there are many ways to engage in shaping a cleaner, greener Aruba.
