ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Aruba Scholarship Applications are open for eligible students planning to pursue higher education abroad during the 2026–2027 academic year.
The Aruba Scholarship Foundation, known as ASF, is continuing its financial-support programme for students accepted into recognised higher-education institutions outside Aruba.
Students must request the ASF Application 2026 form and submit all required documents by Saturday, August 15, 2026. Applications and requests for additional information can be sent to info@arubascholarships.com.
Financial Need Is an Important Selection Factor
ASF considers several factors when reviewing scholarship applications, with genuine financial need carrying significant weight.
Applicants must provide enough information to demonstrate their financial circumstances. The foundation may consider:
- Tuition and other study-related costs;
- The family’s actual available income;
- Financial support available from other sources;
- Eligibility for government study financing such as Arubalening;
- Efforts made by the student to contribute to educational expenses.
ASF scholarships are intended to supplement the financial resources available to students rather than automatically cover every cost associated with studying abroad.
The foundation has previously described its assistance as complementary to Aruba’s government study-loan programme.
Accredited Programme Required
The selected institution and study programme must be officially recognised or accredited in the country where the student plans to study.
Students who are uncertain about a programme’s recognition or need guidance about studying abroad are encouraged to contact Aruba’s Department of Education.
The department provides information concerning Arubalening and other study facilities for students pursuing further education.
Applicants should verify recognition before making significant payments or entering into accommodation and travel commitments.
Academic Performance Will Be Considered
Students are also expected to demonstrate satisfactory academic performance.
ASF may review results obtained at secondary or vocational institutions such as HAVO, VWO and EPI when evaluating an application.
Strong grades alone do not guarantee an award. Financial need, the proposed programme, available funding and the completeness of the application may all influence the foundation’s decision.
Both new applicants and students already receiving ASF assistance must satisfy the criteria established for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Recipients Expected to Return to Aruba
The announcement states that scholarship recipients must commit to returning to Aruba to work after completing their education.
The required service period is connected to the number of years during which the student received financial support from ASF.

ASF’s board performs its work on a voluntary, unpaid basis.
The organisation was established in 1989 and has previously awarded more than 100 scholarships in different fields of study using funds generated through donations and fundraising.
