ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Siomara Everon Named Aruba Patient Health Ambassador after accepting the role of Health and Mental Health Ambassador for Pashentnan di Aruba (PDA), a civic movement dedicated to strengthening patient rights and improving healthcare across the island.

Pashentnan di Aruba operates under the non-profit foundation SIKI and advocates for empowering patients by helping them understand their rights, ensuring their voices are heard, and encouraging active participation in decisions affecting their health and well-being.

Everon is widely recognized in Aruba as a respected television presenter and media professional who has spent many years connecting with audiences across the island. According to PDA, her personal journey has also become a symbol of resilience, courage, and hope.

The organization said Everon and her son have demonstrated that even in the face of hardship, uncertainty, and personal challenges, it is possible to move forward with dignity, love, and determination.

PDA believes her experience will help bring greater awareness to the needs of patients, families, and caregivers while promoting more open conversations about both physical and mental health.

“As Health and Mental Health Ambassador, Siomara will help break the silence, build greater understanding, and bring more humanity to conversations about healthcare in Aruba,” the organization said.

Everon’s appointment was first announced on June 17 during the television program Nos Mainta. However, PDA postponed the official announcement until the launch of its new digital platform, www.pashent.org, which is designed to collect feedback and experiences from patients throughout Aruba.

The organization is inviting patients, family members, and caregivers to visit the website and complete an anonymous survey about their healthcare experiences.

According to PDA, respondents are not required to provide their names or personal information. The organization says every story helps identify areas where Aruba’s healthcare system is performing well, where improvements are needed, and where urgent changes should be prioritized.

The feedback collected through the survey will support PDA’s efforts to advocate for a healthcare system that is more compassionate, safer, more respectful, and more responsive to the needs of patients.

While Everon will serve as a public voice for patients, PDA emphasized that meaningful change also depends on the participation of the community, encouraging residents to share their experiences and contribute to improving healthcare in Aruba.
