ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba Government Staff Donate Relief Supplies for Venezuela after employees of the Government Administration Office (Bestuurskantoor) organized a donation drive to support humanitarian relief efforts following the powerful earthquake that struck Venezuela.
Aruba has joined a broad humanitarian response that includes the Government of Aruba, the Aruba Red Cross, the Crisis Management Office (CMO), private companies, organizations, and members of the community.
While the Disaster Response Team (DRT) of the Aruba Red Cross and the CMO provided medical assistance in Venezuela, residents and organizations across Aruba collected essential relief items for those affected by the disaster.
Donated supplies included canned food, baby products, personal hygiene items, pet food, first aid kits, and other basic necessities.
On their own initiative, employees of the Bestuurskantoor organized a collection campaign across the various government ministries over several weeks. Thanks to the generosity of staff members, a substantial quantity of donated goods was gathered and later handed over to representatives of the Aruba Red Cross, who collected the items for distribution.
The Government of Aruba expressed its sincere appreciation to all Bestuurskantoor employees who contributed to the initiative.
According to the government, the donation campaign demonstrates that although Aruba is a small country, its commitment to helping neighboring communities in times of crisis remains strong.
