ORANJESTAD – The Department of Integration, Management and Admission of Foreigners (DIMAS) is reminding all residents with a valid residence permit to verify that their documents remain valid before leaving Aruba.
Residents whose permits are close to expiring are encouraged to submit their renewal applications on time using the online application form available through DIMAS. After submitting an application, payment instructions will be sent by email, and fees can be paid online via Bill Payment or at authorized tax offices and DIMAS payment kiosks.
DIMAS emphasized that a Re-entry Letter is not required if a residence permit remains valid throughout the trip. However, travelers may request one if they prefer additional reassurance or if their permit renewal application is still being processed.
To obtain a Re-entry Letter, applicants must complete the required form, pay the applicable fee of 40 Aruban florins, and upload the payment receipt along with the required documents through the online portal.
The department also noted that some travelers wait until the day they return to Aruba to request a Re-entry Letter, which can lead to unnecessary complications. Since processing typically takes at least one week, DIMAS advises applicants to submit requests well in advance and ensure all required documents are provided.
