ORANJESTAD, Aruba – Drunk Unlicensed Driver Arrested After Police Stop in Aruba early Sunday morning after officers intercepted a vehicle that was reportedly being driven without headlights and weaving dangerously along the roadway.
Police received reports of a vehicle traveling erratically from the Shaba area. Officers located the vehicle and successfully stopped it near the Paradera roundabout.
During the traffic stop, the young driver was unable to produce a valid driver’s license. Police instructed the driver to leave the vehicle parked and arrange for a family member or acquaintance to collect him.
Instead, the driver and another young man who was with him became argumentative and challenged the officers. After they failed to comply with repeated police orders to remain calm, both individuals were taken into custody.
Police determined that the pair were under the influence of alcohol, and both were arrested for failing to comply with police instructions while intoxicated. Authorities continue handling the case in accordance with Aruba’s traffic and public order regulations.
