ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba Lions Club Donates AWG 10,000 to Local Charities by distributing the funds among eight nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the well-being of people across Aruba.
The donations were presented during the installation ceremony of the club’s new board of directors. The contribution reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting local initiatives that address important community needs.
Lions Clubs International focuses its humanitarian work through eight global service areas aimed at improving lives and addressing major social challenges. The selected organizations in Aruba were recognized for their work in these priority areas.
The organizations receiving donations included FAVI for vision care, Fundacion Diabetes Aruba for diabetes awareness and support, Aruba Conservation Foundation for environmental protection, Koningin Wilhelmina Fonds for cancer-related assistance, Fundacion pa Nos Comunidad for humanitarian aid, YMCA Aruba for youth development, Rode Kruis Aruba (Red Cross Aruba) for disaster response, and Fundacion Cria Nos Muchanan for providing daily breakfasts to schoolchildren.
Aruba Lions Club highlighted that each organization plays an important role in strengthening the local community through health services, environmental conservation, education, disaster relief, youth leadership, and support for vulnerable families.
For nearly 80 years, Aruba Lions Club has served the island as part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization, which includes more than 46,000 clubs, over 1.4 million members, and operates in more than 200 countries and territories.
The club reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its community service through long-running programs such as the Hospital Bed and Wheelchair Program, Smile Mobile, Health Fair, and Back to School Food Bags, while encouraging the public to stay informed about future Aruba Lions Club activities.
