ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Royal Power Advances to Copa Noord 2026 Final after defeating Calabas Blue Jays 8-3 in Friday night’s semifinal at Centro di Bario Noord, securing a second consecutive appearance in the tournament championship.
The Copa Noord 2026 tournament, organized by Calabas Blue Jays, is dedicated this year to five distinguished individuals: Lea Tromp, Maria Boekhoudt, Aldrin Boekhoudt, Julieta “Jeta” de Cuba, and Lenin Ashby. Royal Power delivered a strong all-around performance to book its place in the final.
Jomark Flanegin started on the mound for Royal Power and pitched a complete seven-inning game to earn the victory. Randy Paredes started for Calabas Blue Jays and took the loss before being relieved by Roberto Vargas in the fifth inning.
Royal Power built an early lead by scoring once in the first inning, adding two more runs in the second and another in the third to go ahead 4-0. Calabas Blue Jays responded with a three-run rally in the bottom of the third to narrow the score to 4-3, but Royal Power answered with three runs in the fifth inning before adding an insurance run in the seventh on a pinch-hit RBI by Rayvon Loopstok.
Royal Power finished the game with eight runs on 13 hits and no errors, while Calabas Blue Jays recorded three runs on 10 hits without committing an error.
Flanegin also starred offensively, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Giandrick Lacle, Kelvin Silvania, and Eldrick Dijkhoff each collected two hits, while Rayvon Loopstok, Yeify Tuly Silva, Marvin Brown, and Riangelo Richardson also contributed at the plate.
For Calabas Blue Jays, Maiker Pimentel, Joshua Ramada, and Randy Paredes each recorded two hits, while Jerrold Martijn, Alfred van der Linden, and Francis Kelly added one hit apiece.
Royal Power will now await the winner of the other semifinal between Kudawecha Redskins and Yoyo’s Power as the team prepares to compete for the Copa Noord 2026 championship. Organizers Calabas Blue Jays were also congratulated for hosting another successful edition of the tournament.
