ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Prime Minister Mike Eman visited Plaza Simón Bolívar in Oranjestad on Sunday to commend volunteers and members of Aruba’s Venezuelan community who organized a donation drive to support victims of the recent earthquake in Venezuela.

The community collected essential supplies, including food, drinking water, medicines, clothing and other emergency items for families affected by the disaster. Member of Parliament Clifford Heyliger also attended the event, expressing support for the government’s humanitarian efforts and Aruba’s volunteer mission to Venezuela.

Prime Minister Eman said Aruba shares a close historical and family connection with Venezuela and praised the compassion shown by residents. He described the initiative as a powerful example of solidarity between the two communities.

The donation campaign was coordinated by Luisa Rincon-Peterson of Expresión Folclórica Viva Venezuela and Grupo de Baile Casas de Colombia. Logistics for transporting the donated supplies are being supported by Elvis Cargo, while collection centers remain open across Aruba.

The visit forms part of Aruba’s broader humanitarian response, which includes deploying medical volunteers and coordinating additional relief efforts with the Aruba Red Cross, the Crisis Management Office and other partners.
