ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Renowned Aruban artist Gustave Nouel will once again present his acclaimed street art performance, “Ode to Rembrandt,” on July 19 at Grote Kerkhof in Deventer, the Netherlands.
Organized by Stichting Kunst en Cultuur aan de IJssel, the event will feature Nouel, his students and fellow artists creating live portraits, artistic performances and interactive workshops during a regional art market.
Nouel recently returned from Aruba, where he began work on two new paintings for the Biblical Museum. During his visit, he also explored plans for a future art museum in Oranjestad that would promote international cultural collaboration and showcase works by Aruban artists.
The proposed museum project has received support from Aruba’s Department of Culture and the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA). Nouel has also expressed interest in bringing his “Ode to Rembrandt” performance to the Aruba Art Fair later this year if invited.
The internationally recognized artist continues to promote Aruban culture through exhibitions and artistic collaborations both locally and abroad.
