ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba firefighters remained busy throughout Wednesday responding to multiple brush and waste fires reported after the San Juan celebrations.
Large amounts of smoke were visible across different parts of the island from early morning as fires involving dry vegetation, brush, and waste were reported. While some fires may have been linked to San Juan traditions, authorities indicated that others were possibly the result of intentional acts or irresponsible behavior.
Fire crews spent much of the day responding to and extinguishing the various fires to prevent them from spreading and threatening nearby areas.
The incidents served as a reminder of the importance of celebrating responsibly and avoiding activities that could endanger public safety or damage the environment.
