Aruba Education Sector Adopts KeDo Digital Platform as the island takes another significant step toward modernizing and digitalizing its educational system.
Last week, Aruba and the education sector officially began introducing the Dutch digital platform known as KeDo. The name KeDo originates from “KetenDossier,” a modular internet-based application designed to register, share, and monitor student development within the social and educational domains.
The Aruba Education Sector Adopts KeDo Digital Platform initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between schools, families, and support professionals while enhancing student development monitoring and communication.
In addition to tracking educational progress, the platform offers tools that support the social and emotional development of students. KeDo was developed by Xlab Cloud Services and is already widely used in the Netherlands by municipalities, youth care organizations, and institutions working with young people.
Unlike traditional school administration systems such as Magister or Somtoday, KeDo focuses on connecting the student’s school experience with their broader social environment. The platform is designed to create a more integrated approach to student support and well-being.
The Aruba Education Sector Adopts KeDo Digital Platform project follows the principle of “one family, one plan, one record,” making it easier for schools, families, and support services to coordinate assistance when students require additional guidance or intervention.
Minister of Education Gerlien Croes attended the introduction sessions and expressed her support for the initiative. She also offered words of encouragement to educators and professionals who are beginning to learn and work with the new platform.
The Aruba Education Sector Adopts KeDo Digital Platform effort reflects the government’s commitment to educational innovation and the use of technology to improve student outcomes and support services.
As implementation continues, the platform is expected to strengthen communication, streamline student support processes, and contribute to a more connected and efficient educational environment across Aruba.
